1 month away

One month left until the day Dan and Ashley will be united in holy matrimony! We are rejoicing! A match made in heaven to be sure and I know the Lord will continue to greatly bless them. Dan is doing great! No side effects from his radioactive bead infusion into his liver. Since it will be mid September before he has a CT to evaluate his response, we wait and pray, and are asking you to join us in that effort. Please pray too for all the details of wedding, the move into their apartment, and especially Dan's landing of a media internship for his fall semester. His first choice is an internship in sports media, preferably football (duh).

Another young friend of ours, Tabitha, is battling breast cancer. We would appreciate your prayers for her and her family (husband and 2 young children). Her beautiful and thoughtful words echo many of my feelings:

Cancer is the most complex and challenging thing I have ever dealt with. It does not behave and stay in one part of my life. Instead its overall effect resembles its biological behavior. Rather than staying in the physical and medical parts of my life it has metastasized into everything else: my emotions, my relationships, my psychological landscape and my faith. The physical realities just point to deeper spiritual realities. It is really too much for me to fully understand now and I know the implications of this will unfold over greater time. Even as this has been incredibly difficult, I cannot help but thank God for what all this is teaching me. My life has been spared and I have been exposed to my own weakness and the comforting strength of those around me.

Words are inadequate to tell you what you have done for us. Thank you a hundred times over for your strong support and encouragement. We have not had to walk this road alone because you chose to walk with us. I will not remember this as a dark time, though there has been darkness. I will remember this as a time of special closeness with family, a time of walking humbly and weakly with God as He led me through a difficult journey, and as a time when I and my family were held in the strong arms of those who chose to hold us

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us,to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3: 20-21
