relay for life

I have just sent you all a forward from "Relay for Life". I hope you don't mind. I am "relaying" for the first time. I really do not know what I am doing, but I am compelled to help others with cancer and help fund research for cures. Dan and a young friend who is a "survivor" have agreed to open the relay event in the survivors lap. I am also lighting a "luminary" in honor of my dad who had prostate cancer and passed away almost 25 years ago. Our family has been the recipient of help from the American Cancer Society and I know many others have been helped by them. When you receive, you want to give back. I have learned more about cancer in these past 10 months than i ever knew before. I know that it affects many, many people and my heart's desire is to help find better ways to treat it. So I am "Relaying". Hope you can help too. Join us in our "Relay" on June 7 and 8 (10 am to 10 am) or help with a donation. Thanks. I appreciate whatever you can do.

April 24

Almost a month since I have written! No news is good news. Dan is doing well after completing 2 chemo therapies in the last couple months. To follow up, Dan had a CT done April 18 and he sent us a copy. I will be delivering it to his Stanford radiologist who is planning to perform the SIRSphere treatment in early June. Of course, Bob and I took a peek at it and it looks somewhat the same as his last scan, if not a wee bit better. (Please remember we are not radiologists). As always we love to hear that you are praying for Dan, his health and his upcoming marriage- may our Lord grant Dan and Ashley a long happy fruitful life together. Thanks for your love and concern - you are appreciated!
In studying and celebrating the Feast of Unleavened Bread, we read the Hallel psalms. The following is a portion of the last Hallel psalm:
Psalm 118:19-29
Open for me the gates of righteousness;
I will enter and give thanks to the Lord.
This is the gate of the Lord
through which the righteous may enter.
I will give you thanks, for you answered me;
you have become my salvation.
The stone the builders rejected
has become the capstone;
the Lord has done this,
and it is marvelous in our eyes.
This is the day the Lord has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it.
O Lord, save us;
O Lord, grant us success.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
From the house of the Lord we bless you.
The Lord is God,
and he has made his light shine upon us.
With boughs in hand, join in the festal procession
up to the horns of the altar.
You are my God, and I will give you thanks;
you are my God, and I will exalt you.
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
his love endures forever.
