we need your prayers

Sorry if my last blog was a bit vague. I will explain more on the "Relay for Life" in a bit. My mom is in the hospital again, this time with a kidney stone. I happen to be in LA for a weekend visit with her and last night she developed severe pain, so off to the ER for a sleepless night! She is getting some relief from medication and I am asking for all of you to pray that this stone will pass easily and quickly on its own. So my weekend visit is stretching out to who knows when. Pray that she will know Jesus and His salvation, love and comfort for her at this difficult time. Thanks for loving our family.
Now for "Relay":
"Relay for Life" is a national fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. We "relay" walk for 24 hours June 7-8 (10 a.m to 10 a.m.)in Lodi. Yesterday my niece "relayed" in Santa Barbara. Relays occur in 4000 cities across the nation. I keep hearing that it is a fun event. I am in need of volunteers to "relay" (especially in the wee hours). We will have a tent on site to decorate according to our team name "the squib kicks", a football term for an on-sides kick.
Speaking of football and those who love the sport, Dan and Ashley came for dinner yesterday and he is doing fine. He is in the midst of scheduling his procedure with the Stanford radiologist (as well as finishing up the semester at Biola). The first part of the procedure will be in late May and 2 weeks later in early June will be the actual seeding portion of the procedure. Pray for its complete effectiveness in killing any and all remaining tumor cells in his liver.
Thank you from the depths of my heart for all you have done and are doing for our family.
